About Community Hospice of Texas

About Community Healthcare of Texas:

Community Healthcare of Texas began in 1996 under the name of Community Hospice of Texas in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and Providence Hospice in the Waco area.

As the largest not-for-profit hospice and palliative care organization in Texas, we are proud to offer adult and pediatric palliative care and hospice services to our patients and their families. After providing hospice services for over 24 years, the organization has changed its name in all markets to Community Healthcare of Texas.  The name change better reflects the ever changing and growing needs of patients after a serious illness or terminal diagnosis and allows us to operate under one name throughout our entire organization.

“This name change reflects our commitment of continuing to provide the best care for patients and families as they navigate their healthcare needs when diagnosed with a serious or terminal illness,” stated Victoria Jingle, Chief Executive Officer.  “While Community Healthcare of Texas continues to grow and deliver services to adults and children that need support for hospice and palliative care services, this name change allows us to expand and improve our mission and goals as an organization.”

In partnership with Texas Health Resources, Community Healthcare of Texas has 3 office locations and 2 inpatient facilities serving 12 counties in the Dallas/Fort Worth/Cleburne metroplex.  In partnership with Ascension Health, Community Healthcare of Texas has 3 office locations and 1 inpatient facility serving 13 counties in the Waco/Mexia/Whitney area.

Since 2003, Community Healthcare of Texas has been accredited for quality home and community care by the Community Health Accreditation Program, Inc. (CHAP).  CHAP sets the highest standards for community and home-based health services and products.   The CHAP seal of approval assures consumers that accredited programs have gone beyond the minimum quality levels and have met the industry’s highest nationally recognized standards of excellence.  The federal government recognizes CHAP accredited organizations as certified to provide care to Medicare patients.  Community Healthcare of Texas is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and is a member of the Texas Non-Profit Hospice Alliance.
